Scriptures give insight to natural problems and long unanswered prayer requests.
I got a hold of Matthew 15 today, and I feel led to share it with you guys.
You see this word "faith", can never be overemphasized.
Who remembers the Canaanite woman who went to Jesus for healing for her daughter?
We don't know her name, but we do know she had a great faith because Jesus himself commends her for it.
In coming to Jesus for help, she was faced with three obstacles: silence, saints, and insult.
Just as many of us are faced with at least two, if not this exact three.
Initially, when she begged Jesus for mercy, He didn't reply her a word (SILENCE). And when He did not reply her, His disciples took it upon themselves to get rid of her (SAINTS). But the first obstacle didn't discourage her, neither did the second deter her.
Finally, just when you'd have thought she had had it all, Jesus called her a dog (INSULT).
Sometimes, we are shocked when in face of difficult situations, Jesus' reply reminds us that his help is truly mercy and that we don't deserve his attention. But this woman was not. She knew she didn't deserve his favour, although we most times forget it.
The beautiful part of the story is that after the testing, Jesus proclaims "great is thy faith".
The woman displayed an absolute trust in, and reverence for Jesus. Her great faith charged past all obstacles to fall at Jesus' feet to beg for mercy.
Permit me to ask guys..
Have you ever prayed and it seemed like "He answered...not a word"?
Did you quit going to church because someone in church said something that offended you?
Bear in mind, that these disciples were representatives and founders of the first church and they asked this woman to go away.
How big is your faith today?
Moral lesson: The greatest thing that can be said of us is not that we deserve mercy, but that we have great faith.
Please don't be angry that I talk too much o😂. And thanks for reading 😊.
